Arguably, large pores are just as much a nuisance as they are embarrassing. Individuals with oily skin are prone to enlarged pores. Even those who are only oil in their T-zone can suffer from large, open pores. Over time, these crater-like pores gather dirt and grime. This leaves your face looking uneven, dull, and potentially can cause breakouts. Of course, there are plenty of cosmetic treatments available on the market. However, these can be expensive and ineffective. Certain home remedies have been shown to help alleviate large pores for a fraction of the cost of cosmetics. For these six home remedies, only two ingredients are needed!
6. Egg White and Lemon Juice
You probably have these first two items in your kitchen right now! Simply take the whites of two eggs and add a couple of drops of lemon juice in a cup. Mix to create a paste and apply this paste to the affected areas. For 15-20 minutes, leave this mask on and then rinse it off with cool water. The purpose of this mask is to remove dead skin cells, excess oil, and tighten pores.
5. Water and Baking Soda
Want to make pores nearly disappear? It’s easy! Just mix a cup of 2 tablespoons of water and baking soda each. Mix and then apply to your face for 15-20 minutes. Next, rinse the mixture off with cool water. You will notice that your pores seem smaller and your face feels softer.
4. Tomato and Lemon Juice
If you’ve run out of things to do with your extra tomatoes, why not put them to good use? Simply puree two fresh tomatoes and add a few drops of lemon juice. Next, a thick paste will form, and you will want to apply this to your face. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes and rinse with cool water. Due to the acid in the tomato and lemon, the oil is gently removed. This means pores will be clean and healthy!
