8. Sunburns and bug bites
In case you are left with an angry red splotch on your skin after a day of hustle in the sunshine, Epsom salt is the cure you need. In a sprayer, you can dissolve four teaspoons full of Epsom salt in a cup of water. Mix it well and spray it directly onto sunburn to reduce irritation and redness. Apply the same mixture to get relief from itchy bug bites as well.
If you suffer from dry skin after washing your hands with regular soap, you might want to switch to Epsom salts. Mix equal parts of Epsom salt and baby oil and keep in little bottles next to every sink in your house. Your hands will feel smooth and healthy after every wash.
You can even remove blackheads at home with this miracle salt. Exfoliate your skin first to remove oil and dirt from your pores. Thereafter, mix one teaspoon of Epsom salt and four drops of iodine solution in a cup of hot water. Once the mixture has cooled to a pleasantly warm temperature, apply it directly to the affected skin (usually on the nose bridge and under the lower lip.) Let it dry completely before you wash with warm water. A continuous use at least once a week will give you fantastic results against blackheads.
