Long ago, people relied on time-tested home remedies that had been passed down through the years whenever they had a problem. As products to cure every ailment filled store shelves, younger generations forgot or never learned the handy tricks that had been used before. Here are some of the most useful home remedies that you probably already have in your pantry.
Apple Cider Vinegar
ACV seems to be a cure-all. The vinegar can fight acne by drying up oil, killing bacteria and balancing your skin’s pH. It has also been known to stop diarrhea by killing the stomach bacteria that is causing the problem. Many people take it for indigestion, but it has also be known to lower bad cholesterol. Stuffy-nose sufferers have taken ACV to thin mucus and calm drainage. If you take it, be sure to mix a few teaspoons mixed with water so that it is not as potent.
Avocado and Honey
Avocado is just as great for your skin as it is for your waistline. In fact, people with sensitive skin find that it’s mildness is more helpful than other harsh remedies. To use, simply blend one avocado with a tablespoon of honey and create a paste. Apply the mixture to skin that has been cleansed and patted dry. Leave it to dry for up to 20 minutes and then wash off. The vitamins and nutrients in the mix are great at calming down acne flares and nourishing skin.
