If you’re wondering how different places rate for safety from infection during the coronavirus pandemic, you’re not alone. Non-profit journal CivicMeter gathered eye-opening information from medical professionals that could help better clarify the risks.
CivicMeter asked a group of 27 epidemiologists to rank venue safety on a scale of 1-10, with 10 equaling the highest risk. The ratings determined “the risk of contracting COVID-19 at each venue in the United States.” Each rating was based on “the risks associated with reopening and traveling; and COVID-19 data quality.”
The survey results below show the 22 riskiest places to catch COVID-19, ranked from lowest to highest.
If you’re looking to spend time in a place with the least amount of coronavirus infection risk, a gathering outdoors where social distancing is practiced is your best bet from this list. When planning a special event, hosting this kind of gathering could make in-person socializing possible.
Note that risks of infection still exist, due to exposure to other people who might not be as consistent with virus transmission precautions. For extra protection, wear your face mask even in an outdoor social distancing situation, just in case.
