Diarrhea is an uncomfortable topic, and it seems to happen at the most inconvenient times. There are several reasons why your body has diarrhea, also called a loose stool response. It could be the body’s response to rid it of a toxic substance. It could be bad bacteria from infected food or water, or a virus, like a rotavirus or a norovirus. Sometimes it could be from a toxic chemical either in the home, in the environment, or contaminated water from traveling in third world countries. It could even be the result of an antibiotic regimen; today, most doctors recommend taking a probiotic during this time. Even acute nervousness when you have irritable bowel syndrome can cause diarrhea.

8. Eat Bland Foods

Eat bland foods like bread, grains, or tea. Nothing spicy, irritating or low fiber, as these can cause more inflammation or pain. Eat high potassium-rich foods like potatoes and bananas.

7. Follow the BRAT Diet


Until your body resolves or rids itself of toxins, follow the BRAT diet, which is bananas, rice, apples, and toast. After a few days, you should be getting back to normal bathroom habits. Even apple cider vinegar can help.
