How often you should wash your jeans can be a very contested topic. It can vary from two to three wears to months of wear to never! It could be whenever you remember or when you feel like doing the wash. Jeans companies say that some of the factors to consider are the type of fabric, the dye color, and your personal feelings about bacteria or dirt accumulation.
6. Less Washing Is Better
Your jeans will naturally develop a unique wear pattern, says Kelly Urban, designer and founder of the AMO company. The more you wear them the more they become “you”, so washing them less keeps your individual “whisker” pattern.
5. Fabric Longevity
The less you wash, the better for the longevity of the fabric. This means fewer beatings in the washer, since each cycle breaks down the fabric and can fade the color.
