Illness Triggering

12. Capsaicin

A lot of foods are made spicy by the chemical compound in food called capsaicin. This is especially the case with chili peppers and jalapeños. It’s also the case with certain sauces and seasonings, such as curry powder.  Everyone has a different level of spiciness they can tolerate. Exceeding that can often lead to persistent, stinging pain. This is definitely the case if you get it in your eyes, but also true if you eat too much of it in general. It will cause your lips and tongue to burn.

11. Dairy

While most children have little difficulty consuming a lot of dairy, in adults, it is not uncommon to be lactose intolerant. Recent research suggests that dairy products may promote inflammation. Chronic inflammation is generally a factor for other serious illnesses, cancer among them. While such extreme afflictions are not often the case, there are other discomforts with dairy that occur more frequently in those who are lactose intolerant. Generally, they are digestive symptoms, such as gas, bloating, and diarrhea, all of which can be unpleasant.
