Punicalagin, a nutrient found in pomegranates, can also help prevent the breakdown of collagen and keep your skin tight, as well as maintain joint health. If you hate picking the individual seeds out, try making it into a juice instead.

13. Oatmeal


In addition to being a tasty way to start your day, oatmeal is jam packed with nutrients that you can truly benefit from. Oatmeal is full of fiber like wheat bread. This allows your digestive system to function the way it should. Oatmeal has also been linked to preventing or lessening the effects of heart disease, cancer, respiratory problems, and depression. If you have never been a fan of oatmeal in the past, try cooking it in different ways. The possibilities are almost endless when it comes to cooking oatmeal.

14. Garlic


While garlic has never really been a food known to improve your skin or keep your breath fresh, it does have some other benefits that will keep you feeling young as you age. Garlic has been proven to be very healthy for your heart and possibly aid in preventing strokes. It prevents your arteries from hardening over time and allows them to work as intended. Garlic has also been known to keep you light on your feet as well as prevent cartilage damage that has been linked to arthritis.
