We’ve found a recipe that ensures that you can cook brown rice with the same quality inconsistency every single time. It uses a little bit of butter, so if you want to try to find a healthier substitute for that, that will work as well. This recipe takes about an hour to make, serves 6, and is just 200 calories. - 1.5 cups of brown rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 3 cups boiling water
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Place rice, salt, and butter in a casserole dish that has a cover. Pour boiling water over rice; stir.
- Cover and bake in preheated oven until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, about 1 hour. Remove from oven, fluff with fork, and serve hot.
