Apple sauce is an amazing, tasty, and great way to get your daily apple intake. We have a recipe today called, “Sarah’s Applesauce.” This specific apple sauce recipe only takes 30 minutes to make, serves 4, and is just 121 calories. Lower the intake of sugar if you want to keep it healthier. This recipe calls for 1/4 cup white sugar, but you can probably do 1/8 cup of white sugar and get away with it. Try it out!
- 4 apples – peeled, cored, and chopped.
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup water
- In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft. Allow to cool, then mash with a fork or potato masher.
